I have started exploring the General Algebraic Modeling Systems (GAMS) and finding how powerful computing can be in applications in various fields ranging from physical sciences to social sciences. The application of GAMS to Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) models in Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP) is one such application. Interestingly, it is the availability of the data which is the limiting factor. |

I configured Magpar on Linux (Redhat EL) and ran sample cases of micromagnetic simulation, creating a supercomputing environment. I used OpenMPI for parallel processing and integrated solvers to run the engine. I compared the output with that from OOMMF (NIST) and also wrote a program to convert OOMMF input files into Magpar format for parallel processing. |
